AAIS convened its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23 October 2026, hosted by the Boeing Singapore Training Campus. Members filled the auditorium for an afternoon of Association business and engagement, reflecting the strong sense of community and warm camaraderie.
Industry Priorities and the Year in Review
In his opening address, AAIS President Mr Wong Yue Jeen welcomed new and long-standing members, reflecting on an aerospace industry shaped by strong demand but growing operational complexity. He emphasised the need to strengthen Singapore’s competitiveness through capability building and productivity improvements, while deepening collaboration with regional partners. He also highlighted AAIS’ continued focus on workforce development, strengthening SME capabilities and linkages with primes and OEMs to build supply chain resilience, and supporting the adoption of new technologies.
Against this backdrop, Mr Wong welcomed the Association’s steady membership growth, noting that referrals and recommendations from existing members had played an important part in bringing new companies into the community.
Honorary Secretary Ms Lim Hee Joo presented highlights from the FY2025/26 Annual Report, outlining AAIS’ work across its three key roles: facilitating business, serving as the voice of industry and engendering community. The report reflected a year of industry engagement, capability-building initiatives and efforts to strengthen connections across the aerospace ecosystem. On behalf of the Treasurer, who was unable to attend, AAIS Chief Executive Mr Chew Hwee Yong shared key updates from the FY2025/26 Financial Report.
Members subsequently completed the AGM’s statutory business, including confirmation of the previous AGM minutes and adoption of the FY2025/26 Annual Report and Financial Statements. Members also unanimously supported the reappointment of Mr Paul Sandosham as Honorary Legal Adviser and Ernst & Young as Honorary External Auditor.
Management Committee Movements and Elections
The AGM outlined changes to the AAIS Management Committee (MC) for the 2025–2027 term.
Mr Desmond Goh had stepped down in early 2026 following his departure from Eaton, following which the MC appointed Mr Eldrick Saw, Vice-President of Manufacturing at Rolls-Royce Singapore, to fill the interim vacancy. Ms Penny Burtt of Boeing also stepped down later in the year following a career transition.
The Association recorded its appreciation to Penny for her contributions during her time on the MC and to Eldrick for stepping up to serve during the year.
Following his appointment to a new role at Jet Aviation, Desmond was subsequently co-opted onto the MC. In accordance with the Association’s Constitution, the terms of appointment of all five co-opted members also concluded at this AGM: Mr Desmond Goh (Jet Aviation), Ms Lee Siu Min (Viasat), ME7 Gabriel Tham (RSAF), Mr Tay Yun-Yuan (Skyports) and Mr Bernard Neo (SIT). The Association and its members acknowledged their contributions and service.
An election was held via electronic polling to fill two vacant MC positions.
Our congratulations to the newly elected Management Committee members:
- Mr Eldrick Saw, Vice President of Manufacturing, Rolls-Royce Singapore Pte Ltd; and
- Mr Desmond Goh, Senior Vice President Regional Operations & General Manager APAC, Jet Aviation (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd
They will join the MC and serve the remainder of the 2025–2027 term, until the next AGM in 2027.

Strengthening Industry Partnerships and Developing Talent
In his closing remarks, Mr Wong thanked all nominees who had stepped forward to serve the Association. He noted that members’ willingness to contribute their time, expertise and perspectives reflected the strength of the AAIS community. He reaffirmed AAIS’ commitment to bringing the industry together, facilitating collaboration and creating opportunities for members to learn, connect and grow. These include talent development and student outreach, supplier development, overseas business missions, networking and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
These efforts, he noted, remain closely tied to the purpose behind AAIS’ formation in 2003: to bring the aerospace industry together, foster stronger connections and achieve more collectively.
The programme continued with a sharing session by the Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA), which highlighted initiatives and support available to aerospace companies to develop the workforce and prepare for evolving industry needs.
A key highlight of the afternoon was the signing of an addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AAIS and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). Building on the partnership established in 2023, the addendum introduces an Industrial Attachment Programme for eligible RSAF personnel. Through attachments with commercial aerospace companies, participants will gain industry exposure while fostering greater knowledge exchange between the commercial aerospace and defence communities. Participating Air Force Engineers will also have opportunities to attend relevant AAIS training courses and overseas learning visits.
The signing of the MOU addendum was witnessed by ME7 Gabriel Tham, Head Air Engineering and Logistics, RSAF, and AAIS President Mr Wong Yue Jeen, with ME7 Neo Junjie, Deputy Head Air Engineering and Logistics (Systems Engineering), RSAF and AAIS Chief Executive Mr Chew Hwee Yong as the signatories.

The afternoon continued with a tour of the Boeing Singapore Training Campus, giving members a closer look at the facility’s training capabilities and its role in supporting aviation workforce development in the region.
AAIS extends our sincere thanks to Boeing, particularly Mr Travis Sullivan, President, Southeast Asia, and Mr Patrick Curtin, General Manager of the Boeing Singapore Training Campus, for hosting the AGM and welcoming members to the facility. The Association also thanks SWDA for its continued support of workforce development in the aerospace sector, as well as all members for their active participation.
As AAIS looks to the year ahead, we remain committed to strengthening industry connections, supporting members’ growth and building a more capable and collaborative aerospace community in Singapore.
