The much-anticipated AAIS Annual Futsal Tournament took place on 14 September 2024 at a new venue, KickOff! at Hougang. This year’s tournament brought together 28 teams from across the aerospace and aviation industries. There was an electric atmosphere as friendly but intense competition filled the air, with teams battling it out in a series of high-energy matches. The audience was treated to moments of brilliant play, rapid counterattacks, and heart-pounding last-minute goals that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
As the dust settled, GE Aerospace Team 2 from GE Aviation, Engine Services – Singapore emerged victorious, clinching the championship with their well-coordinated attacks and relentless defence. RTX-HS B, representing Hamilton Sundstrand Pacific Aerospace put up a valiant effort and claimed the 1st runner-up position. Meanwhile, TOS 1 of Turbine Overhaul Services secured the 2nd runner-up place and EC Boys from SIA Engineering Company took the 3rd runner-up position. Mr Khairul Annas Ahmad, in the #30 jersey of GE Aerospace Team 2, was awarded Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance on the field.
Beyond camaraderie and sportsmanship, the tournament showcased the players’ remarkable resilience and teamwork. We extend our warmest congratulations to all the winners, who were presented with medals, trophies and cash gifts by AAIS Management Committee members Mr Oliver Chamberlain (Rolls-Royce Singapore), Mr Pang Yong Kian (Pratt & Whitney Component Solutions), and Mr Sia Kheng Yok, AAIS Chief Executive.
