AAIS was pleased to ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), bringing together two complementary communities — IES’ network of engineering professionals, and AAIS’ connections across Singapore’s aerospace companies and wider ecosystem.
The signing took place on 14 August, at the culmination of IES’ National Engineers Day (NED) and its Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC) 2026 Prize Presentation Ceremony held at the PSB Academy.
Witnessed by the event’s Guest-of-Honour, Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of National Development, alongside IES President Mr Mervyn Sirisena and AAIS President Mr Wong Yue Jeen, the MOU was signed by IES Executive Director Mr Syafiq Shahul and AAIS Chief Executive Mr Chew Hwee Yong.
Through the partnership, IES and AAIS will facilitate knowledge exchanges and encourage members’ participation in relevant training programmes. The organisations will also explore opportunities to organise joint industry events and promote STEM-related activities.
Congratulations to IES on a successful NED and EIC, and to all the winning student teams for their creativity and engineering ingenuity!
AAIS is pleased to mark this partnership as IES celebrates its 60th anniversary. We look forward to connecting Singapore’s engineering professionals more closely with industry and strengthening the pipeline of engineering talent for Singapore’s aerospace sector and beyond.
