Delegation from Dongwon Institute of Science and Technology
“Just bring your dream! We’ll help you make that dream come true,” says the Chairman of Dongwon Institute of Science and Technology (DIST) in his welcome message to students.
AAIS had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of third year students from DIST at our offices in Seletar Aerospace Park on 24 Jun 2025. DIST from South Korea positions itself as a college for the community and emphasizes character education and curricula adapted for the “industrial society”.
In his briefing to the delegation, CE AAIS spoke of the importance of connectivity to Singapore, the development of Changi Airport Terminal 5, the aerospace industry in Singapore, and the importance of R&D and innovation for future competitiveness of our industry. The discussion also covered unmanned aircraft and how Singapore was fostering the development of this sector in the face of operating constraints such as airspace congestion and our highly urbanized environment. The delegation posed questions on fostering the talent pipeline, and the application of new technologies such as AI, in the development of MRO capabilities.
