Part 21 Subpart J details the elements required of a design organisation in order to hold a CAA/EASA Design Organisation Approval (DOA). It outlines the requirements and procedures for the design, production, and approval of parts, appliances, and materials used in aviation.
Subpart J sets forth the responsibilities of manufacturers, suppliers, and applicants seeking approval for the production of aviation products, including the need to demonstrate compliance with applicable design and airworthiness standards. The regulation encompasses aspects such as design data, quality systems, production control, and conformity assessment procedures. Compliance with Part 21 Subpart J ensures that aviation components meet the necessary safety and performance standards, contributing to the overall airworthiness of aircraft and the safety of flight operations. About the Instructor: Mr. Ian MaLaren Ian has over 35 years of experience in the industry. He is an Airworthiness specialist at the UK CAA ( including ASSI) including British Aerospace, and now BAE Systems. Ian has previously worked as an Avionics design certification specialist on large aircraft and a Part 145 and Part M specialist. Ian is currently delivering our Initial Airworthiness and Continuing Airworthiness training courses and instructing training addressing the airworthiness aspects of Specific Approvals. |
