The 22nd AAIS Annual General Meeting (AGM) was successfully held on 25 October 2024, with a strong turnout from AAIS members. Early arrivals took the opportunity to reconnect before the commencement of the formal proceedings.
The AGM opened with remarks by AAIS President Wong Yue Jeen, who reflected on the growth and promising trajectory of Singapore’s aerospace industry. He highlighted the various ways AAIS has been supporting the industry, citing several key initiatives over the past year, including:
- Workforce development through the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Aerospace.
- Supplier resilience and ecosystem development through initiatives such as the Promising Entrepreneurs Programme (PEP).
- Strategic partnerships with government agencies
- Fostering an inclusive community through collaborations such as the MOU with the RSAF, ensuring representation across various sectors.
Honorary Secretary Ms Lim Hee Joo followed with highlights from the Annual Report, and Honorary Treasurer Mr Desmond Goh reported on the financial performance for the past fiscal year. During the proceedings, members endorsed the FY2023/24 Annual Report and the audited Financial Report. Members also approved the reappointment of Mr Paul Sandosham of Clifford Chance as Honorary Legal Advisor, and Ernst & Young as Honorary External Auditor, expressing gratitude for their ongoing service.
Election of Vice-Presidents
An election was held for two vacant Vice President positions on the Management Committee. With one nominee each for the roles of 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President, AAIS members welcomed

Mr Raymond Lim
Head of Customer Services Asia Pacific, Airbus Commercial Aircraft
The AGM also recognised the dedication of long-standing Management Committee members who have recently stepped down – Mr Richard Wong, who served AAIS since his election in 2018 and held the position of 1st Vice President from 2019 to 2024; and Dr Kenneth Low, who was co-opted as a Management Committee member through consecutive appointments from 2018 to 2024.
In his closing remarks, President Wong outlined key initiatives for the upcoming year, including the formation of AAIS-Affiliated Student Clubs and Aerospace Day 2025. He also highlighted the recent launch of the Singapore Space Community to serve as a focal point for members’ space-related interests and shared that AAIS will be publishing the first Singapore Space Directory. Mr Wong also reiterated AAIS’s ongoing commitment to core focus areas for the aerospace industry, including innovation, supplier resilience, and sustainability, with an emphasis on quality and safety.
Following the AGM, members were treated to an exclusive briefing on the Singapore Space Industry by Mr Jonathan Hung, Executive Director at the Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn). Mr Hung offered valuable insights into the rapidly expanding space economy, government investments in R&D, and emerging projects and business opportunities in Singapore and the region. As Singapore’s national space office, OSTIn plays a pivotal role in shaping space policies, fostering international partnerships, and building a competitive space ecosystem and talent pool.
