About the Course:
The advanced training program is designed with the intention to provide essential knowledge and guidance for specialised and alternative peening applications, such as the use of flap peening, addressing peening of holes or internal surfaces and peen forming techniques. The course also provides instruction on the analytical approach towards the understanding in the variation and interpretation of the saturation curves, dealing with differing peening specification requirement and managing the Nadcap shot peening process audit.

Who Should Attend?
  • The course has been designed for suitability in all levels of work including for Shot Peening Operator/Technicians, Planning/Process Engineers, Quality Engineers and Operation/Engineering Managers and/or Process Owners etc.
  • Attendees would be required to attend and complete the Shot Peening Applications for Aerospace Qualification course organised by the AAIS or its equivalent; for eligibility to attend the Advance Shot Peening course

About the Instructor:

Mr Nai Puay Guan
Nai is an independent consultant in the aerospace industry, a Nadcap Lead Auditor and a Shot Peening & Flap Peening trainer based in Singapore. He has training in mechanical engineering and holds a Master Degree in Engineering (University of South Australia). He has expertise and extensive experience in Aerospace Quality Systems and Process Management; especially for significant or special processes such as Surface Enhancement Technology, Conventional and Non-Conventional Machining. He formerly served as Instructor and Examiner of the Singapore Air Force School and was the General Manager of a metal finishing company in Singapore providing aerospace special process services. He has co-authored a book on Shot Peening (2006 & 2009) and is a member of the SAE AMECSE committee. Nai is also a registered management consultant with registry at the Institute of Management Consultant Singapore.

Nai has performed numerous training and consultation works in many aerospace companies across numerous countries including ATI (Singapore), Airfoil Malaysia, ADAT (Abu Dhabi), GE Aviation, other GE sites in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan & Saudi Arabia, Goodrich Aerostructures (Singapore & Dubai), Jordan Airmotive (Jordan), Malaysian Airlines, Saesl, ST Aerospace as well as many other aerospace companies in China, Taiwan and Japan etc.
