Ringing in the Year of the Snake: AAIS CNY HOST Networking
On February 13th, AAIS members, partners and guests gathered for our first HOST networking of the year, held at Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and camaraderie as guests celebrated the Lunar New Year and connected with industry friends both old and new. A highlight was the customary ‘Lohei’ with well-wishes for a prosperous year ahead.

AAIS Student Leaders Summit 2025
On 24 January 2025, AAIS held its inaugural Student Leaders Summit at Embry-Riddle Asia, which brought together industry representatives and students passionate about aviation and aerospace from universities across Singapore, including Embry-Riddle Asia, NUS, NTU, SIT, SUSS and SUTD. The event also kickstarted the new AAIS Affiliated Student Clubs Initiative.

MoC between AAIS and ASTM International
On 23 January 2025, AAIS and ASTM signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to promote exchange of information and participation in the international standards-setting process. The MoC was signed by AAIS Chief Executive Sia Kheng Yok and ASTM International President Andrew Kireta Jr. Representatives discussed standards development efforts across sectors including aerospace, aviation, UAS, and AAM and identified potential collaboration areas.

AAIS launches inaugural Space directory
AAIS launched the inaugural edition of the Singapore Space Industry Directory (SSID) during Singapore Space Week 2025 (23-28 Feb). The Directory shines a spotlight on Singapore’s burgeoning Space industry and endeavours to present a comprehensive view of the emerging Space cluster, including the supporting industry and services.

Delegation from the Aviation Foundation Programme (Batch 2)
On 20 February, AAIS had the pleasure of welcoming a second batch of participants from the Aviation Foundation Programme, organised by the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA). AAIS Chief Executive delivered a seminar on the role of national aviation and aerospace industry associations in shaping industry ecosystems, as well as the strategic value of Seletar.

Seminar on Drone Operations Safety
In our first Singapore UAS Community seminar of the year, we were delighted to welcome Mr Steven Teo (Deputy Director, Air Safety Investigations) and Ms Pang Min Li (Senior Air Safety Investigator) of the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) to speak about their role in independently investigating air accidents and unmanned aircraft incidents, with the aim of improving aviation safety.
