Quality & Standards

The Singapore Aerospace Quality Group (SAQG), with its core members made up of Quality Professionals from the Aviation, Space, and Defense (ASD) industries in Singapore was formalized in 2016 under the Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore).

SAQG aims to improve quality and cost-saving within the ASD industries, through activities such as the establishment of standards and certification scheme for quality management systems.

SAQG is led by a sub-committee with Mr. Jeffrey Ho (Rolls-Royce Singapore) as the Chairman.

GOALS

 

1) To contribute in the development of IAQG 91XX standards
2) To support and promote the adoption of IAQG 91XX standards in Singapore

Activities

 

SAQG participates in and supports activities of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and the Asia Pacific Aerospace Quality Group (APAQG).

SAQG also holds regular events to share knowledge and experience.

SS708:2024 – FLM Additive Manufacturing in Aerospace

AAIS was pleased to support the launch of SS 708:2024, a new Singapore Standard for Filament Layer Manufacturing (FLM) in aerospace applications. This is Singapore’s first standard for additive manufacturing in aerospace, providing a structured framework for producing high-quality FLM components such as lightweight structural parts and specialised maintenance tooling.

MoC between AAIS and ASTM International

On 23 January 2025, AAIS and ASTM signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to promote exchange of information and participation in the international standards-setting process. The MoC was signed by AAIS Chief Executive Sia Kheng Yok and ASTM International President Andrew Kireta Jr. Representatives discussed standards development efforts across sectors including aerospace, aviation, UAS, and AAM and identified potential collaboration areas.
